It’s already over one week into 2018, but I’m still going to say “Happy New Year”!
I hope you had a great holiday and kicking off the new year with joy! I love the smell of possibility, enthusiasm and excitement a new year brings and totally hoping this year 2018 is our best one yet, and all our hopes and dreams come to pass!
So how was 2017? Out of 52 weeks in the year, I was pregnant for 40! So only 12 weeks of not being pregnant. Obviously having our little boy was the best part of the year and we’re so thankful for that.
In 2017, we moved into our first home and I qualified as a Solicitor in the UK. Those were definitely the highlights of the year. More leisure related, was the travel experience to 2 new countries – South Africa (which I loved!) and the USA. And well, a tiny goal – but it was listed in my 2017 goals, so it’s worth saying that I visited the dentist!
What didn’t happen in 2017?
A fair bit, but the major ones being some career related plans and goals that didn’t quite kick off.
I’m definitely excited for 2018. I can’t say I have all my goals and plans all mapped out, but hopefully that will come in due time. For now all unaccomplished 2017 plans get moved to this new year.
On the blog, February 2017 marked one year of blogging and it’s fair to say we recorded a good bit of progress – before finally slowing down towards the tail end of the year, thanks to motherhood! So yes, there’d be a new blog category relating to motherhood and family life, while I hope to maintain and expand existing categories and columns.
I also hope to be a bit more proactive with the blog this year, pitching for writing opportunities to grow it and collaborate with brands where possible. I collaborated with a few brands such as SewEasy, IrresistibleMe Hair, JORD Watches, and TravelStart. These opportunities pretty much fell in my inbox. This year, perhaps I can reach out more.
One mantra, I’m therefore trying to embrace is “Confidence”. I’m often surprisingly shy about blog (especially in person), but if I’m going to keep putting this much effort into it, then I guess I better be willing to shout it on the rooftops – or at least tell people more about it – in person!
Another broad goal for the year is to actually sit back and truly learn more from those who know more – in all spheres of my life. The need for confidence and learning means that I hope to read more inspirational books, listen to more successful stories, and connect with inspiring persons.
As a bit of a recap, 111 posts were shared on the blog in 2017 and here are 11 popular most posts of the year in no particular order. I find that they seem to cut across most categories of the blog.
What were your favourite blog posts / categories in 2017?

January 8, 2018 at 10:18Happy New Year Kachi! Hope the baby is doing well. Yes those posts were really popular weren’t they? For 2018 I just want to do better with my money. Budget and save a whole lot to start investing in 2019. Lol you know you’re an adult when you plan things two years in advance. Also, this year I hope to get scholarship and admission to do my Masters abroad next year. And also get a certification this year. Whew. God help me lol. Looking forward to what’s going to happen on the blog this year. Kisses to Jeremi.

January 8, 2018 at 11:13Kachee!!!! Happy New Year. I’m excited about 2018 and I know you will do amazing things with this blog, you’re a natural at this and I can’t wait to see you push yourself even further! You had quite the year. A professional qualification, one of the most significant purchases, and your first baby!!! Not even counting the rest that’s amazing! Congratulations to you both!!! I found your blog and you in 2017 too yay! I’m with you on reading more, learning more, and pushing myself more but also listening to God’s leading above all the noise! Another thing I’m working on is to not only look to people that have made it but to discount the people around me that are working through it and grinding right now, and together we’ll get there by His grace. 111 posts! Wow! Really cool to see that your most popular posts ran the gamut! It shows that the variety of content you bring is relevant! Here’s to an amazing 2018!www.wellwornheels.com

January 8, 2018 at 16:38Happy New Year to you too! My 2017 was not too good (in my personal life, although I made a few bold steps in my writing career), so I am grateful to see 2018 because I know it can only get better. Congratulations to all you accomplished last year, and double congrats for your new foray into motherhood. My plans for 2018 is to commit to blogging twice weekly, plus have my writing seen and published in many other popular and less popular platforms. I would love to collaborate with bloggers and brands and hopefully have some speaking engagements. My favourite blog post is the one about Nigerian Inter Ethnic Stories.Good luck for 2018!Madelinehttp://www.madelinewilsonoj…
