Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas people!

It’s our first Christmas, as a community and it’s amazing how much of a difference this blog has made both to me and to others. I’m constantly in awe.

I had absolutely no plans to write this post. And I haven’t even logged on to my blog or uttered the word blog in about three days!, which is a bit of a record to be honest.

But I really do feel so connected this community and so I thought I should drop a line!

How did your celebrations go!?

I received one of the items on my wish list (every possible item was on my list anyway) so I’m quite pleased. And for the first time, we snapped a Christmas cracker at home. It’s not an activity I was used to, and I recall the first office Christmas party I attended, and how aloofed I was when it was time to snap the Christmas cracker. I had no idea what was going on!

This is Tee and I’s third christmas married. We usually spend the day with his extended family in London with lots and lots of food! No jokes, I took so much left overs and barely had to cook, till l the first week in January.

This time however, we spent it by ourselves and I had to cook (hey, not complaining!)

For some reason I also felt like baking some home-made bread! I haven’t done this in at least six years so I have no idea why I suddenly craved it. Well needless to say, it was no where near perfect – a knife couldn’t even go through it and a bit of it, almost hurt my upper gum. But i still really enjoyed it, and was so happy I baked.

Thankfully, the rest of the lunch turned out way better! But I’ve definitely overdone it and clearly afraid of stepping on the scale.

Judging from the Instagram stories, I think many people are having a great holiday. But remember to avoid social media comparison! Also spare a thought and prayer for those who for whatever reason are unable to share in some Christmas joy this season.

Finally, I saw a Christmas movie a couple of days ago, and a marketing agency was trying to sell the idea of Christmas 365 – to encourage everyone to be in such high spirits all the 365 days of the year!

I think that’ll be amazing. The atmosphere of love and joy coupled with generous hearts! And for Christians, the conscious realisation that Jesus is the reason. Not just this season, but everyday!

On that note, may the true joy of Christmas be with you always!

Let’s raise our imaginary glasses to our first Christmas, and hopefully many many more!

Thank you for reading and for being here.

I’ll spend the rest of the day speaking to family, watching a Christmas movie or two and definitely having lots of green tea (to sort of balance out my over-eating!)

How did your Christmas go? Share with us!

Love,

Kachee…xx

😃 Isn’t it so beautiful that hard as the bread was, you still felt some sort of satisfaction? Merry Christmas to you!!! (You)r blog is one of the things I’m grateful for in this season. It was a good Christmas day. For more than a moment, I missed my parents, sisters, and all those who surround us. It’s 6 years since we last did this together and I’m not ready to get fond of not spending Christmas with them. We had an awesome, awesome, family time in church and I’m so grateful for the family of believers I’m a part of. Christmas here is January 7th so it was just “we-we” We don’t get a break either till the last day of the year so, it’s back to business already. I’m thankful Christmas or the Spirit of Christmas is more than just a holiday, biological family, food and drinks else, it’d have been long lost for me. (I mean, these other things really decorate it 😆 ). I baked too! I obviously stepped up my icing game and I was glad for that too… Thanks for letting us share. As you see, I’ve dropped my own mini-blog post here. Oh! help me God. Love, peace, joy, laughter, and light to you and yours.http://becauseibelieveblog….

Been a while here! Missed using this cute Disqus comment box. Lol. My Christmas wasn’t so Christmassy apart from the fact that I got to eat real pounded yam for the first time in a long time. The kitchen work was pretty annoying. I just wanted to sleep. Lol. All in all, I’m grateful for food security for my family and friends. Merry Christmas Kachee! P. S : The first time I baked bread, I had a problem controlling the oven so the upper part got burnt but at least it was kinda edible. I’d try it again the next blue moon! Ok, bye. Merry Christmas Kachi! It’s been a while. Disqus has been messing with me but I think I’ve got it in lock down lol. Christmas was OK. My immediate family is not in time do I was alone at home. But I didn’t mind as its something I’ve always dreamed of, loner like me lol. Didn’t bother to cook. Made the rounds of friends and extended family homes for Christmas lunch and dinner lol. Went for night mass on Christmas Eve, for the first time in a long time. Still went for mass in the morning. Accompanied some kind hearted Nigerians who went to share some food to street kids, before going on my eating spree lol. All in all a good one. I’ve never tried to bake anything in my life so well done! I’m sure practice makes perfect lol. Here’s to 2017. May it be all we hope for and more.
